Le Mans 24 HR GT2 Winner

Risi Competizione is an American auto racing team formed by Giuseppe Risi in 1997. Initially a partnership with Doyle Racing using the name Doyle-Risi Racing, Giuseppe Risi took full control of the project and it was rebranded with its current name in 2000.[1] Risi Competizione has won races and championships in the IMSA GT championship, American Le Mans Series, and Rolex Sports Car Series, as well as earning three class wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1998, 2008 and 2009 . Much of Risi Competizione's success has come through the use of Ferraris.

In 2008, Risi entered the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the second year in a row, entering Salo and Melo along with Ferrari factory driver Gianmaria Bruni in their primary car, while Krohn Racing used Tracy Krohn, Niclas Jönsson, and Eric van de Poele in their cooperative entry. Although the Krohn entry was the first retirement of the race, the main Risi entry went on to take the GT2 class victory, 19th overall. This marked their second victory at Le Mans in four attempts.

2009 LM 24 HR Winner

After two failed attempts at Le Mans 24 HR (Twice beaten by Audi). The Peugeot 908 HDi FAP finally won the LM 24 HR this year. In June this year, the cars #9 and #8 took the first two places, 16 years after Peugeot's last win at Le Mans 24 HR. Together with the sixth-placed #7,
they performed a formation finish, crossing the line with all three cars line-astern.

Though I'm not a Peugeot fan. It's certainly hard for me to miss out this winner. You can see from the packaging itself is slightly different than regular Spark models... That's why it costs slightly more than the rest... Merry Christmas & happy holidays.

Three great drivers - Darren Turner, David Brabham & Antonio Garcia.

All three drivers (Darren Turner, David Brabham & Antonio Garcia) that drove the #009 DBR9 to victory in 2008 LM GT1 class returned to the legendary 24 HR Le Mans race the following year either competed in different classes or drove for different teams.

The last AMR DBR9 that raced in 2008 LM 24 HR.

Darren Turner stayed with AMR, but drove a brand new Lola Aston Martin
LMP1.

Antonio Garcia joined Corvette Racing and took another GT1 title in 2009.

David Brabham won the 2009 LM. He drove the 908 HDI FAP to victory for the team Peugeot.

I like to collect models in pair. Be it 2 cars from the same team or rival team. It gives me whole different meaning to pick up them in pair... plus these two cars were the 2008 & 2009 LM GT1 winners respectively. What a great fun!!!

2009 Corvette Racing C6R LM GT1 Winner

Finally the long awaited Corvette C6R reached me yesterday morning. I was extremely exited when received a call from my local post office and inform me that my package from Hong Kong has arrived... Wasted no time and I went pick up the parcel... I was absolutely stunned when I open the Parcel. As usual Spark has done an excellent paint job on this model... each of the detail has been put up to perfection... No complaint so far!! To be honest I was freeze looking at the model for nearly 30 minutes... A must for every model collectors... if you don't want to miss this gorgeous model, quick go grab one from Diecastbase.
